The Siberian pepper belongs to the chillies. The plant needs little sunlight and can be grown indoors. The approximately 3cm long pods produce up to 50 seeds, which are very hot. The plants sprout a large number of leaves before blooming and are one of the fastest growing peppers. The fruits grow vertically and are red when ripe. Fruits that are exposed to too much light darken to black as a defence against UV radiation.
